Hi everybody and happy holidays!
Just got the following message from our friend Bob Mason in Wivenhoe, UK
Hi John and Mal,
We are enjoying our first winter snow in Wivenhoe! The river and village look good.
I have just collected Mallory’s book, American River: Tributaries, from our local independent bookshop, and look forward to sitting by the wood fire and reading it.
Wivenhoe is a small town in north eastern Essex. Located on the banks of the River Coine, Its picturesque location has attracted many artists and writers, including the nineteenth century British landscape artist, John Constable. The town has many historic buildings dating back to the 12th century, and is also the home of the University of Essex.
I had no idea that American River: Tributaries was available in a bookstore in Wivenhoe, Essex, England! Go Wyvems! (The local soccer team is named after a mythical beast called a “wyvem.”)
